Role title: Multi Skilled Maintenance EngineersClosing date: 10th September 2026Location: RG7 4PR , located between Reading & Basingstoke with free onsite parking .Package: £39,280 - £55,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications & level of experience)Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We are looking for engineers with the potential to develop into machine tool specialists and are committed to providing the training and support needed to help the right individuals succeed.What You'll Be Doing:Maintaining, servicing and repairing machine tools and associated manufacturing equipmentDiagnosing and resolving faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systemsCarrying out planned preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability, availability and performanceResponding to equipment breakdowns and safely restoring operational capability in a timely mannerSupporting machine installations, commissioning activities, modifications and engineering improvement projectsAnalysing equipment performance and contributing to reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborating with production, engineering and project teams to deliver operational excellenceEnsuring all activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirementsWho We're Looking For:EssentialEngineering apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent practical engineering experienceExperience in a maintenance engineering role within an industrial, manufacturing, production, facilities, utilities or engineering environmentStrong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skillsExperience working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or automated equipmentAbility to interpret technical drawings, manuals and engineering documentationDesirableExperience maintaining CNC machine tools or complex manufacturing equipmentKnowledge of Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar control systemsPLC fault-finding and diagnostic experienceExperience working with servo drives, motors and automation systemsMachine installation, commissioning, calibration or precision alignment experienceKnowledge of Asset Management SystemsUnderstanding of reliability-centred maintenance, condition-based monitoring and continuous improvement methodologiesWork hard, be rewarded:We ask a lot and set the bar high because our work truly matters.
