Engaging with their clients and using their wealth of employee experience and expertise to deliver a first-class product every time.About The Role:Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a small Finance Team comprising two Purchase Ledger Clerks, a Credit Controller, and a Management Accountant.In this role, you will oversee Newgates day-to-day financial operations, expenses, stakeholder pensions, payroll and the preparation of all associated HMRC statutory reports and submissions. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing petty cash and expense payments, alongside supporting the Management Accountant with budgeting, forecasting, and accurate financial reporting.As a key member of the management team, the Finance Office Manager plays a vital role in supporting and improving financial processes in all areas of the organisation.Job DutiesTeam Management: management of a small team, including recruitment, motivation, performance management, coaching & developmentProcess Improvements: work with the wider business to initiate and implement changes to processes and systems as requiredPayroll & Expenses: prepare 4-weekly payroll including stakeholder pensions & preparation of all associated HMRC statutory reports & submissionsOversee the work of the Credit ControllerPurchase Ledger: oversee work of two purchase ledger members of staffInsurance: responsible for business insurance queries and (if required) claimsAudits: working with external bodies with audit work including year-end reportsVAT: preparing VAT returns and other tax workSupport and manage the Assistant Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly management accounts for submission to external accounts for review & completionSkills, Knowledge and BehavioursHave proven experience of managing/developing a teamHold a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)Some Payroll experienceMicrosoft Office (advanced Excel skills)Experience of working with Sage (ideally Sage 200)Excellent attention to detailClear communication style with the ability to partner with all levels of the businessAbility to work in a pressured environmentGood understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and standardsHEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIESSection 7 HASAWA 1974Employees legal duties under Health & Safety at work act 1974 states that all employees should take reasonable care of themself and of other persons who may be affected by acts or omissions at work.Every employee shall co-operate with their employer in relation to any health and safety issues.Section 8 HASAWA 1974No person shall intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interest of health, safety and welfareIf you feel that you have the relative skills/attributes to fulfil this role then please apply now for immediate consideration.The employer fully supports Equality in Employment.
