Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: NorthamptonSalary: DOE (Depending on Experience)Hours: Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys working with clients, and wants to take ownership of exciting projects from concept through to installation.Your responsibilities will include:\n

• Producing detailed manufacturing and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
\n
• Interpreting client briefs and transforming ideas into practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
\n
• Working closely with clients, suppliers, fabrication teams and installation crews to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
\n
• Carrying out engineering calculations, site surveys and technical assessments to support your designs.
\n
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality and meeting deadlines.
\n
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, best practices and safety requirements.
\n
• Continuously looking for smarter, more efficient ways to improve designs and processes.
\n

What Our Client Is Looking For They're searching for someone who's technically strong, naturally curious and enjoys tackling engineering challenges head-on. You'll ideally have:\n

\n
• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
\n
• Previous experience within a Mechanical Design Engineer role, ideally in manufacturing, construction or a similar engineering environment.
\n
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
\n
• A solid understanding of engineering principles, materials and fabrication processes.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients and colleagues.
\n
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
\n
• A full UK driving licence for occasional site visits.
\n
