Contentious Construction Associate Solicitor | Birmingham | National Law Firm | Competitive Salary + BenefitsAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Contentious Construction Associate Solicitor to join the Birmingham office of a highly regarded national law firm.This is a great opportunity for a construction lawyer looking to develop their career within a well-established and ambitious team, working on a varied caseload of high-quality construction disputes for an impressive client base.The RoleYou will advise a range of clients including developers, contractors, employers, funders and other stakeholders on a broad spectrum of contentious construction matters.Your work will include:\n

• Construction disputes arising from major development and infrastructure projects.
\n
• Adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings.
\n
• Contractual disputes and claims relating to delay, disruption, defects and payment.
\n
• Professional negligence claims involving construction professionals.
\n
• Contract interpretation and disputes arising from standard form and bespoke construction contracts.
\n
• Supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters while taking responsibility for your own caseload.
\n
• Developing strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.
\n

The CandidateThe successful candidate is likely to be a contentious construction solicitor with around 2–6 years' PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will be considered where the experience is right.You should have:\n

• Solid contentious construction experience gained within a recognised construction team.
\n
• Experience of adjudication and/or construction litigation.
\n
• Strong technical drafting and analytical skills.
\n
• The ability to manage a caseload effectively and work to deadlines.
\n
• Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
\n
• A commercial approach and genuine interest in developing your career within construction disputes.
\n
