Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking a General Music Teacher for an onsite contract opportunity in Philadelphia, PA, for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will serve students in grades K–8 and provide engaging music instruction within a supportive school environment. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule.
Schedule and Compensation
The position is full-time at 35 hours per week, with a typical schedule of 8:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Compensation is provided on an hourly basis through the agency, with an equivalent annual salary range of $50,000–$60,000, or approximately $37.04–$44.44 per hour. Pay is determined based on qualifications, experience, credentials, and other relevant factors.
Responsibilities
The General Music Teacher will develop and deliver age-appropriate instruction for students across grades K–8. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, teaching music concepts and performance skills, assessing student progress, and adapting instruction to meet varied learning needs. The teacher will also collaborate with school staff, maintain a positive classroom environment, and support student participation in the broader school community.
Requirements
Candidates should hold a valid Pennsylvania Music Teacher Certification covering K–8 at minimum. Applicants with out-of-state credentials or emergency certification may be considered depending on their previous teaching experience and qualifications. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong classroom management, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide engaging instruction to elementary and middle school students.
Contract Details
This is a 26’27 school year contract position with Soliant Education. The assignment is scheduled for August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, and is based onsite in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Candidates will complete an initial phone screening with a Soliant recruiter before being presented to the school district for consideration.
