Procurement Specialist (Public Sector/Government Experience Required)

Portland Metro Area | Contract Opportunity

$26-$30/hr

We're partnering with a local government organization seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist . Candidates must have prior public sector or local government procurement experience . Applicants without this background will not be considered.

What You'll Do
  • Manage procurement of supplies, equipment, furniture, and contracted services
  • Lead RFP, RFQ, and competitive bid processes from start to award
  • Research vendors, obtain quotes, and evaluate purchasing options
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contract compliance
  • Create and track purchase orders and procurement documentation
  • Maintain procurement records, inventory, and asset management data
  • Support audits, budgeting, reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Advise internal stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, contract administration, or related experience
  • Local government or public sector procurement experience
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, and competitive bidding processes
  • Strong understanding of procurement compliance and purchasing regulations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and recordkeeping abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with public purchasing regulations and contract compliance
  • Asset tracking and inventory management experience
  • Audit, budgeting, or financial reporting experience
  • Project coordination or lead worker experience
