Job Description
Our client, a leading manufacturer of precision cutting tools, is seeking a CNC OD Grinder / Operator to join their team. As a CNC OD Grinder / Operator, you will be part of the Manufacturing team supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: CNC OD Grinder - 2nd & 3rd Shifts
Location: Brookfield, WI
Pay Range: $24 - $28/hr
- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines to perform close-tolerance machining operations on carbide and steel cutting tools.
- Select grinding wheels, tooling, and machine programs; perform first-piece inspections and make adjustments as needed.
- Monitor production runs, inspect finished products for dimensional accuracy, and maximize efficiency through multi-machine operation when appropriate.
- Enter production data, complete required job documentation, and maintain accurate records.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, request maintenance as needed, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- CNC Certificate with an emphasis in machine tool operation, or 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one year of direct CNC machine setup and operation experience, preferably with grinding applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and written work instructions.
- Strong math and trigonometry skills with the ability to calculate machine settings and make precise adjustments.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment; CNC grinding experience with equipment such as Toyoda, Studer, Mitsubishi, Tschudin, Kellenberger, or Reinecker is strongly preferred.
