Laburnum Medical Center, located on the campus of Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a supportive clinical environment while providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

• Call: Approximately every 5 weeks, including one weekend and three additional days

Key Responsibilities\n

The provider will exercise independent clinical judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, consistent with their training, experience, and scope of practice. Responsibilities include performing and documenting comprehensive health histories and physical examinations; formulating diagnoses and identifying health risks; ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests and X-rays; and prescribing medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with Virginia regulations and organizational policies.

The provider will also initiate consultations and referrals to specialists and subspecialists as clinically appropriate, evaluate patient responses to disease processes and treatment interventions, and provide patients and families with education and support regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and procedures. Additional responsibilities include responding to patient calls and MyChart messages, ensuring referrals for procedures and specialty consultations are completed, and participating in assigned on-call responsibilities. The provider will also be encouraged to pursue ongoing professional development through formal and informal educational activities, including developing and presenting educational programs. Other duties may be assigned consistent with the professional services customarily provided by a licensed independent provider.
