  • Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and job requirements prior to beginning production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and GD&T specifications.
  • Select and install the appropriate tooling and dies based on material type, thickness, bend requirements, and job specifications.
  • Program and/or enter machine settings to produce accurate bends, angles, and dimensions.
  • Perform machine setup, tooling changes, adjustments, and job changeovers as required.
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to maintain dimensional accuracy and consistent part quality.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Verify dimensions, bend angles, tolerances, and overall quality of completed parts.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, and material issues and communicate more complex problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine operator-level maintenance, cleaning, and inspections of the press brake.
  • Safely handle and position sheet metal and other materials during production.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety procedures.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating CNC press brake equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely set up and operate CNC press brake machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of sheet metal bending, forming, bend allowances, and material characteristics.
  • Ability to select and install appropriate press brake tooling and dies.
  • Experience making machine adjustments to achieve accurate bends and dimensions.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges.
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, measurements, bend requirements, and material specifications.
  • Ability to identify basic machine, tooling, and material issues and communicate problems appropriately.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures, production instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with CNC press brake programming and setup.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software or CNC-generated press brake programs.
  • Strong understanding of bend allowances, bend deductions, material springback, and tooling selection.
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, angle gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, tooling setup, and material handling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and adjustments on CNC press brake equipment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with established production and quality goals.
