Medical Oncologist with Sub-Specialty Interest in GI/GU - Danbury Hospital (60 Miles from New York C

Our organization, situated in Danbury, Connecticut, approximately an hour north of New York City in Fairfield County and adjacent to Westchester County, is in search of a Hematologist/Oncologist with a specialized focus in GI/GU Oncology to become part of our well-established and expanding practice. Our Cancer Institute is experiencing significant growth as we enhance our clinical trial offerings and aim to establish ourselves as a premier cancer program in the region. The GI/GU oncologist will collaborate closely with our dedicated GI/GU team at both our Danbury and New Milford facilities.

The ideal candidate should be board certified or eligible in oncology, with a particular interest or experience in GI/GU oncology. We welcome applications from new and recent graduates. The role includes some educational responsibilities for medical residents and students. We provide a highly attractive compensation package, which includes a base salary along with performance incentives and generous allowances for continuing medical education (CME) time and expenses.

Our organization is part of a larger health network that encompasses 28 hospitals and cancer centers across western Connecticut and southeastern New York. We offer tertiary oncology services and are accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. Our facility boasts many essential components of a comprehensive oncology service line, including advanced radiation oncology and surgical specialties in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology, and Hepatobiliary Surgery. Onsite services such as nurse navigation, genetic counseling, and screening are also available. There are numerous opportunities for engaging in research and clinical trials.

Founded in 1885, our hospital is a non-profit community institution that provides residents of the Greater Danbury area with convenient access to high-quality care. With 371 beds, we operate as a Level II Trauma Center, handling approximately 70,000 emergency department visits annually. As a teaching hospital, we maintain affiliations with several medical schools, including the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine.

Compensation: $475,000-$600,000 annually, based on experience

A sign-on bonus of $50,000, along with a retention package and relocation assistance, is available for full-time candidates.
