Staff Physicians- Section of Gastroenterology

Position Overview

Our organization is currently inviting applications for the role of Staff Physician specializing in Gastroenterology. We are looking for a full-time, board-certified physician to become a part of our Gastroenterology department at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center Hospital. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic clinical environment and hold dual board certifications in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. We are particularly interested in individuals who are enthusiastic about managing both outpatient and inpatient consultations. This role supports a 60-bed VA hospital located in Tulsa and reports directly to the Chief of Medicine Specialty. This is a non-supervisory role, and we encourage you to join our expanding department dedicated to serving Veteran patients more effectively!

Responsibilities

• Engage in clinical practice with a focus on both outpatient and inpatient care.
• Collaborate with various medical specialties, including surgery, pathology, and radiology.
• Participate in teaching opportunities through our partnerships with local medical colleges.
• Contribute to endoscopic procedures at both the hospital and outpatient clinic.

Qualifications

• Must possess an MD or DO degree and hold a current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Board certification or eligibility in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine is preferred.
• Eligible for academic appointment at local medical schools, with opportunities for teaching and research.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for appointment at the VA.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, operating Monday through Friday, with the possibility of evening or weekend shifts as part of a 24/7 physician team. The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with ad-hoc telework options available, though it is not a remote position.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range is between $320,000 and $400,000, with the potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
• A sign-on bonus will be provided.
