Job Description

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting

\n

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm; some overtime required; some weekends required

\n

WAGES: Commensurate with experience

\n

RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

\n
    \n
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
  • \n
  • Assist with analyzing financial results on a monthly basis and report on variances
  • \n
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure and strong ability to prepare efficient accurate journal entries
  • \n
  • Reconcile and research balance sheet accounts to the general ledgers and perform monthly analysis of accounts
  • \n
  • Support Finance and Management with special projects and workflow process improvements
  • \n
  • Provide support and assist the department to ensure a clean and timely yearend fiscal audit
  • \n
  • Provide support and assist with various other audits required by government agencies
  • \n
  • Other related tasks as assigned by manager
  • \n

REQUIREMENTS

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • \n
  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience
  • \n
  • Experience with a professional services firm preferred, but not required
  • \n
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word; ability to work within complex database systems.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with various departments and multi-task to stay on track with multiple deadlines
  • \n
  • Must be detail-oriented and accurate
  • \n
  • Strong general ledger experience and knowledge
  • \n
  • Ability to research and document technical accounting matters
  • \n
  • CPA preferred
  • \n
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • \n
  • Hands-on professional attitude with a strong attention to detail
  • \n
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • \n
  • Ability to interact with and to develop working relationships with technical and administrative staff
  • \n
