Job Description
This travel pharmacist position is based in Ashland, Wisconsin, supporting a 50-bed hospital. The assignment starts ASAP and extends for at least 13 weeks, offering a 7-on/7-off rotation with 12-hour day shifts. Responsibilities include thorough review of medication orders to assess drug therapy appropriateness, dose accuracy, regimen suitability, and identification of drug interactions or therapeutic duplications. You will provide pharmacokinetic and anticoagulation dosing guidance, participate in medication reconciliation, and deliver discharge medication education to patients. Additionally, you will oversee pharmaceutical compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 regulatory standards. The hospital utilizes EPIC for healthcare IT systems.
Ideal candidates will hold a valid Wisconsin pharmacist license or be eligible to obtain a temporary Wisconsin license. A minimum of one year of hospital pharmacy experience is required to excel in this role. Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and clinical services is essential.
Key Qualifications:
