Job Overview

The Special Procedure Technologist plays a vital role in supporting the nursing and physician teams by managing the technical aspects of daily operations. This position involves assisting the Electrophysiology team with the preparation, execution, and completion of various procedures, including ablations and cardiac implants. The technologist is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control and assurance while ensuring patient comfort during procedures conducted in the electrophysiology lab.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Current and valid ARRT and NJ DEP licenses.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in radiology.
    • Preferred: Experience in Procedural Interventional Radiology.
Scheduling Requirements

This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in organizing the daily work schedule and preparing the procedure rooms.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate orders, x-ray requisitions, and lab results.
  • Ensure proper technical exposure settings with both digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Manage the programming of digital computers, film stands, and contrast injectors.
  • Oversee radiation safety and protection protocols, along with coordinating continuing education efforts.
