Job Overview:

This position involves supporting the nursing and physician teams by managing daily technical operations. The role includes assisting the Interventional Radiology team with the preparation, execution, and completion of all examinations, both within and outside the department. Ensuring adherence to quality control and assurance standards is essential, as is maintaining patient comfort while meeting technical requirements during procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Possession of a valid ARRT and NJ DEP license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in radiology is preferred.
  • Experience in Procedural Interventional Radiology is preferred.

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years of experience in radiology.
  • Experience in Procedural Interventional Radiology.
Scheduling Requirements:
  • This is a Part-Time position, requiring 40 hours per week, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts, including on-call and weekend rotations.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in organizing the daily work schedule and preparing examination rooms.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to ensure accurate orders, x-ray requisitions, and lab results.
  • Ensure proper technical exposure settings with both digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Involves programming digital computers, managing film stands, and operating contrast injectors.
  • Responsible for radiation safety and protection, as well as coordinating ongoing education.
