Salary Range: $56.66 - $70.12 per hour

This reflects the expected hourly wage range for this role in New Jersey. The final compensation for the selected candidate will be influenced by various factors, including educational qualifications, skills, and professional experience.

Job Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will support the nuclear physician in executing specialized imaging procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Possession of a valid New Jersey State license.
  • Certification from ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.

Preferred:

  • At least two years of experience as a staff technologist in a hospital setting.
  • NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to standards set by the hospital and relevant regulatory bodies at both state and federal levels.
  • Complete special assignments from supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Assist the nuclear physician in carrying out specialized imaging procedures.
  • Ensure all tests are conducted accurately, with valid results confirmed before patient release.
  • Calibrate the dose calibrator and perform quality control on gamma cameras according to departmental protocols, promptly reporting any issues to the lead technician.
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients, including expected wait times, while ensuring their comfort during the process. Capture optimal images using specified technical parameters and techniques.
  • Verify patient identities (both inpatient and outpatient) in accordance with hospital standard operating procedures before initiating any procedures.
  • Conduct all hot lab activities, including the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals, strictly following vendor, departmental, and DEP regulations.
