We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a school-based opportunity in Waterville, Maine. This position is ideal for an OT who enjoys working with children and helping students develop the functional skills necessary for greater independence and success in the educational environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students.
Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students’ functional needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP-related goals.
Support fine-motor, visual-motor, sensory-processing, handwriting, self-care, and functional school skills.
Monitor and document student progress.
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, special education staff, and other related-service professionals.
Requirements
Current Maine Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain Maine licensure. Maine requires an individual practicing as an OT to hold the appropriate state license.
Completion of the academic and fieldwork requirements of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Successful completion of the required national examination; Maine recognizes the NBCOT certification examination for this purpose and requires NBCOT certification verification for licensure.
Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Ability to complete applicable school background check requirements.
Pediatric or school-based OT experience preferred.
