Patient Registration Representative (Front Desk Role)Job Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Patient Scheduling & Registration Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments and procedures, handling a high volume of incoming calls, gathering patient information, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to multitask across multiple systems, and committed to delivering a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients by phone and in person.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
  • Schedule patient visits, exams, and procedures for multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities.
  • Coordinate scheduling activities with clinical departments and adhere to established protocols.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and direct concerns to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Maintain communication with clinical staff regarding patient status and scheduling updates.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative teams to maximize scheduling efficiency.
  • Enter and maintain accurate demographic, clinical, insurance, and billing information.
  • Educate patients on preparation requirements and instructions for scheduled procedures.
  • Inform patients of estimated co-pays, deductibles, and financial responsibilities.
  • Review registration and financial information and communicate details to patients and internal business office teams.
  • Utilize multiple technology platforms simultaneously while ensuring data accuracy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the patient experience.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of call center experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of incoming calls in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital, healthcare, or medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Prior experience assisting patients with scheduling, registration, or insurance-related inquiries.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.50/hr.
