Multi-Pass Tack Welding:\n
- \n
- Using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Process. \n
- With MIL-10718-M (A-5A) Filler Metal of MIL-E-22200/1. \n
- In both the Vertical Up (3F) and Overhead (4F) positions. \n
\n - Burning: Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch. \n
- Heating: Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch. \n
- Blueprint Comprehension: Understand complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines. \n
- Fractional Dimensions: Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler. \n
- Layout Skills: Layout piece parts for fabrication and assembly. \n
- Assembly Skills: Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications in a quality manner. \n
- Physical Demands: Experience in a physically demanding environment (like shipbuilding or steel fabrication). \n
- OSHA Familiarity: Know OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry. \n
- Vibratory Tools: Use grinders and needle guns. \n
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging: Experience with this technique. \n
- Work Packages: Use Work Packages and Drawings to plan and execute work. \n
- Molded Lines: Use Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to execute required work. \n
- Complex Shapes: Erect, set, and makeup complex-shaped shell plates. \n
- Decks and Bulkheads: Erect, set, and makeup decks, bulkheads, longitudinal trunks, etc. \n
- Hull Inserts: Install and replace hull inserts and penetrations. \n
- Foundations: Install miscellaneous and complex foundations. \n
