Radiologist Section Chief of Imaging Informatics opportunity in Phoenix!
Job Description
Our organization is currently in search of a Section Chief for Imaging Informatics within the Radiology Service. This department, located at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, delivers a range of Radiology subspecialty services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care for Veterans throughout central Arizona.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the enterprise-wide PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) operations.
- Supervise the team dedicated to PACS, ensuring effective digital image sharing between PVAHCS and Community Care partners.
- Oversee the largest clinical department at PVAHCS, which comprises over 130 staff members across 9 specialty divisions, including:
- Staff Radiology
- Vascular and Interventional Radiology Services
- CT Services
- Nuclear Medicine Services
- Ultrasound Services
- Breast Imaging Services
- Diagnostic Radiology
- MRI Services
- Clerical Services
- Ensure compliance with patient flow, scheduling, quality monitoring, and regulatory standards across all divisions.
- Work alongside 24 radiologists providing both subspecialty and general radiology coverage, with a preference for candidates specializing in Neuroradiology or Musculoskeletal Radiology.
Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: Competitive annual salary of up to $400,000, along with performance bonuses and regular salary increments.
- Sign-on Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401k plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

- Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
- Must possess a Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Licensure: Hold a full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, maintaining an active status.
- U.S. Citizenship is required; non-citizens may only be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
