MIG Pulse Welder

Job Requirements

Work located in Virginia

Four years of naval shipyard experience as a first-class Welder is required. The following skills are essential:

\n
• Welding Techniques: Proficiency in multi-pass, all position fillet and butt welds utilizing the following processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding), and GMAW-P (Pulse Arc Welding).
\n
• Heating Equipment: Experience with Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
\n
• Physical Environment: Capability to work in a physically demanding environment, including shipboard settings, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging.
\n
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA regulations pertinent to the shipbuilding industry.
\n
• Gouging Technique: Proficiency in Air Carbon Arc Gouging.
\n
• Welding Gauges: Ability to properly utilize fillet and butt weld gauges.
\n

Welding Qualification: All Welders must successfully complete all positions, Multi-pass Butt Weld, Welder Qualification Tests prior to commencing productive work. These tests will adhere to MIL-STD-248D Paragraph 5.3.3 and include the following:

1. All position (Horizontal (2G), Vertical (3G), and Overhead (4G)) SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) process.
\n
2. All position (Horizontal (2G), Vertical (3G), and Overhead (4G)) FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) process.
\n
3. Horizontal (2G) position GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) process.
\n
4. All position (Horizontal (2G), Vertical (3G), and Overhead (4G)) GMAW-P (Pulse Arc Welding) process.
\n
5. Air Carbon Arc Gouging proficiency test.
\n
