Our organization is on the lookout for a dedicated Rheumatologist to become part of our Internal Medicine Department. Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in both teaching and research within the realm of academic medicine.
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient services at various locations, including our Faculty Medical Offices and Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
  • Participate in a shared inpatient service model among physicians, with plans to expand the division to lessen call responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team, including nurse practitioners and dedicated staff for prior authorization and documentation.

Working Conditions

Our Rheumatology Division currently consists of 5.5 faculty members, with plans to expand to 9 full-time positions. We prioritize faculty development and wellness, offering a variety of programs such as:

Fellowship and Research Opportunities

We host a 2-year fellowship program with three fellows each year, providing faculty the chance to mentor residents and students weekly. Our division is home to seven specialized centers, including:

  • Center for Arthritis
  • Lupus Center
  • Scleroderma Center
  • Myositis Center
  • Sjogren’s Syndrome Center
  • Vasculitis Center
  • Center for Bone Health and Osteoporosis

These centers offer a diverse patient pool for research and expertise development. We also manage the Fracture Liaison Service and infusion centers at our affiliated hospitals, with ultrasound machines available for various procedures.

Community Engagement

Faculty members are encouraged to explore academic interests through teaching and research while providing care to underserved populations via partnerships with local health systems. We welcome discussions about these opportunities during the recruitment process.

Our faculty medical group is affiliated with a leading medical center and children's hospital, dedicated to delivering comprehensive care at a high standard. Serving as the largest tertiary referral center in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, we cater to a population nearing 4 million and are the only Level I Trauma Center in a four-county area.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $300,000 to $330,000, adjusted based on experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives, which will be discussed during the recruitment process.
