Compensation: $47.67 - $56.74 per hour

Job Overview

The CT Technologist is responsible for executing a variety of CAT Scan procedures, prioritizing patient care and ensuring the highest quality of service.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Graduation from an A.M.A. accredited Radiography Education program.
    • ARRT or CRT certification and a valid New Jersey State License.
  • Preferred:
    • Three years of experience as a staff technologist in a hospital setting, with the ability to work independently.
Essential Functions
  • Position patients according to established protocols to obtain required studies.
  • Accurately position all anatomical areas as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare for procedures to ensure timely execution.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is available before starting examinations.
  • Under a Radiologist's guidance, instruct and administer cleansing preparations and contrast agents.
  • Implement proper radiation protection techniques to safeguard patients and staff.
  • Utilize appropriate protective apparel for reproductive organs when visualization is not necessary.
  • Transfer and position patients effectively to achieve desired radiographic outcomes as per physician instructions.
  • Assist physicians during examinations.
  • Demonstrate competency in administering IV contrast media, including venipuncture, as per radiology policies.
  • Practice sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination, securing and returning supplies as needed.
  • Recommend maintenance for equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise, maintaining logs for preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure all supplies are stocked and available in the examination room.
  • Manage patient scheduling and ensure a smooth workflow, including contrast administration.
  • Oversee quality control for CAT scan examinations.
  • Utilize the computer system in accordance with standard operating procedures, including entering studies in RIS and HIS, and tracking cases.
  • Split and correct studies in PACS as necessary.
  • Participate in required in-service training and educational opportunities.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address any questions prior to starting.
  • Complete all necessary documentation before submitting procedures for interpretation.
  • Assist in training student technologists.
