Job Overview:Under the supervision of the department head, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a range of technical procedures that necessitate independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in using radionuclides for diagnosing and treating diseases in patients. The role involves adhering to safety regulations and maintaining cleanliness standards within the department. Compliance with hospital policies and the guidelines set by the NRC is essential. The technologist will apply knowledge of growth and development principles to assess and meet the age-specific needs of each patient, ensuring appropriate treatment and care.
Qualifications:Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related discipline
- Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Experience in operating PET-CT and SPECT/SPECT CT imaging equipment
- New Jersey Nuclear Medicine Technologist License
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Day shift

- Operate PET-CT and SPECT imaging equipment to generate high-quality diagnostic images
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with established protocols
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns
- Monitor patients during imaging to ensure their safety and comfort
- Ensure precise patient positioning to achieve optimal imaging results
- Maintain and calibrate PET-CT equipment to ensure it functions correctly
- Follow radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect both patients and staff
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results
- Document imaging procedures and maintain accurate patient records
- Assist in training and supervising junior technologists and students
- Stay informed about advancements in PET-CT technology and imaging techniques
- Perform additional duties as assigned
