Job Description

Structural Steel Project Manager - Starting at $75k/annually DOE!

This position is a direct hire opportunity!

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Structural Steel Project Manager for our manufacturing client to start immediately at starting at $75k/annually DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!

Responsibilities:

We are hiring a Structural Steel Project Manager for our client to oversee structural and miscellaneous steel projects from the initial turnover phase through final completion and closeout.

This individual serves as the project’s central point of accountability, managing every phase of the work—including submittals, detailing coordination, purchasing, fabrication, scheduling, field activities, change orders, billing, and closeout.

The ideal candidate takes full responsibility for assigned projects and acts proactively rather than waiting for others to identify issues or direct next steps. The Project Manager must be able to interpret contract documents, manage project schedules, recognize potential concerns early, communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, and guide projects through successful completion.

  • Take full ownership of structural and miscellaneous steel projects from turnover through final closeout, including contract review, project planning, scheduling, documentation, and protection of the company’s contractual and financial interests.
  • Serve as the primary contact for General Contractors and Construction Managers while coordinating internally with estimating, detailing, purchasing, fabrication, shipping, and field operations.
  • Manage the complete submittal process, including shop drawings, product data, delegated-design information, approvals, RFI tracking, and communication of review comments to detailers. Maintain ownership of submittals through final approval and release for fabrication.
  • Coordinate internal and external detailers by providing current drawings, specifications, RFIs, ASIs, addenda, field dimensions, and other project information; identify drawing conflicts and ensure approved changes are incorporated into fabrication drawings.
  • Coordinate purchasing, material releases, fabrication sequencing, outsourced fabrication, and specialty items—including joists, deck, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals—to meet project delivery and erection requirements.
  • Work closely with field supervision to plan erection activities, manpower, equipment, cranes, lifts, deliveries, trucking, site access, field measurements, and resolution of installation issues.
  • Develop and manage internal milestones for detailing, approvals, fabrication, delivery, and erection; monitor progress and address schedule impacts caused by design changes, delayed approvals, RFIs, access restrictions, or other project conditions.
  • Identify, document, price, submit, and track change orders. Maintain supporting documentation and cost records for labor, materials, equipment, detailing, project management, and subcontractor work.
  • Monitor project costs, labor and material performance, profitability, billing, stored materials, retainage, payment status, and outstanding change orders; identify potential cost overruns and implement corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate project files, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, drawings, correspondence, change orders, and written notices related to delays, changes, and contractual impacts.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, architects, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Manage all closeout activities, including punch-list completion, as-built documentation, closeout submittals, warranties, final change-order reconciliation, billing, retainage, and resolution of outstanding project issues.
