Job Summary

\n Seeking experienced Stick Welders for barge repair operations at a busy shipyard facility in South Point, OH. Candidates must have strong experience performing heavy structural and marine repair welding using 3/16" 6010 electrodes in demanding industrial environments.
\n Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- \n
- Perform structural and repair welding on barges, marine vessels, and related steel structures. \n
- Execute SMAW (Stick) welding using: 3/16" 6010 rod \n
- Complete repair welds in multiple positions including: Flat Horizontal Vertical Overhead \n
- Remove damaged steel and prepare weld areas through: Grinding Gouging Torch cutting Joint preparation \n
- Read and interpret: Blueprints Repair drawings Weld symbols Shipyard work instructions \n
- Perform weld repairs on: Hull plating Structural stiffeners Bulkheads Deck structures \n
- Maintain weld quality standards and follow all shipyard safety procedures. \n
Required Qualifications
\n- \n
- Minimum 3+ years of stick welding experience in: Shipyards Heavy industrial repair Barge or marine fabrication \n
- Proven experience welding with: 3/16" 6010 electrodes \n
- Ability to perform open-root and heavy repair welding. \n
- Strong understanding of weld penetration, fusion, and defect prevention. \n
- Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor environments. \n
Preferred Qualifications
\n- \n
- Barge repair or marine industry experience preferred. \n
- Air Arc gouging experience a plus. \n
- Experience with structural steel replacement and marine repair procedures. \n
- Ability to pass shipyard weld testing and visual inspection requirements. \n
