Job Description
This opportunity is for a Travel Pharmacist position located in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, serving a small 40-bed hospital. This role offers a chance to work with a diverse inpatient and outpatient population across multiple departments including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, and the Emergency Department.
Schedule options include either four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with rotating weekends or a block schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off. The assignment starts as soon as possible and lasts at least 13 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a variety of tasks within the inpatient pharmacy setting, including verifying EPIC medication orders and cross-checking technician work.
- Respond promptly to pharmacist phone inquiries to support patient medication needs.
- Prepare and dispense inpatient and outpatient IV medications, unit dose meds, and outpatient chemotherapy.
- Support an inpatient census typically ranging from 30 to 40 patients.
- Collaborate with clinical teams across surgery, medicine, OB/GYN, ICU, oncology, and emergency services to ensure safe and effective medication use.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
- Proficient with electronic medical record systems, preferably EPIC.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing chemotherapy and sterile IV medications is preferred.
- Comfortable working day shifts with potential weekend coverage or block scheduling.
