Position Overview\n

The Diesel Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing company trucks, trailers, and equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fleet safety, reliability, and compliance while minimizing downtime.

\nKey Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
  • \n
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical, electrical, and safety issues
  • \n
  • Diagnose and repair:\n
      \n
    • Diesel engines
    • \n
    • Transmissions and brakes
    • \n
    • Electrical and hydraulic systems
    • \n
    • Suspension components
    • \n
  • \n
  • Utilize diagnostic software and testing equipment
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company standards
  • \n
  • Communicate repair timelines and needs with fleet leadership
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • \n

\nRequired Skills & Experience\n
    \n
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • \n
  • Experience working with diesel engines and fleet equipment
  • \n
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • \n
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • \n
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • \n
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • \n
  • Welding experience preferred
  • \n
\n
\nQualifications\n
    \n
  • High school diploma or GED
  • \n
  • Vocational or technical training in diesel/automotive technology (preferred)
  • \n
  • ASE certification (preferred)
  • \n
  • Valid driver’s license
  • \n
  • Must have own tools
  • \n
  • Trailer maintenance experience is a plus
  • \n
