Department Overview

This role is centered on Adult Palliative Care, Adult Oncology, and Pain Management, with additional support for the Children's Hospital Music Therapist.

Position Summary

The individual in this role will:

  • Design, implement, and oversee music-related activities and programs.
  • Act as an advocate for patients while working with the healthcare team to identify appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Develop personalized music therapy treatment plans that align with other developmental, rehabilitative, habilitative, medical, mental health, preventive, wellness, or educational services provided to clients.
  • Encourage family-centered care and help enhance positive coping mechanisms and resilience within the healthcare environment.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions applied.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Music Therapist – Board Certified from the Certification Board for Music Therapists is required.
  • In North Dakota, licensure as a Music Therapist from the State Board of Integrative Health Care is necessary.
