A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, serving a small 40-bed hospital with a diverse inpatient and outpatient pharmacy setting. This position offers an engaging environment with a patient census typically ranging from 30 to 40 and exposure to various specialties including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and surgery.

Schedule:

  • Flexible options including four 10-hour shifts (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with rotating weekends
  • Alternatively, a 7 days on/7 days off day shift schedule is also considered

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple concurrent responsibilities within a central inpatient pharmacy
  • Verify EPIC medication orders and accurately check technicians’ work
  • Address pharmacist phone inquiries promptly and effectively
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient intravenous medication preparations, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy management

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Licensed pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience, particularly in inpatient settings
  • Proficiency in using EPIC or similar electronic health records systems for medication verification
  • Familiarity with IV admixture, chemotherapy protocols, and managing unit dose medications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy environment
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and respond to inquiries

This position is available for an immediate start on a travel assignment lasting at least 13 weeks. Candidates should be comfortable relocating to Wisconsin Rapids and adapting to a smaller hospital setting that provides comprehensive pharmacy services.
