Job Overview

This role involves supporting the nuclear physician in executing specialized imaging procedures.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
    • Current NJ State license is mandatory.
    • Certification from ARRT and/or NMTCB.
    • BLS certification is required.
  • Preferred:
    • At least two years of experience in a hospital setting as a staff technologist.
    • NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT certification is preferred.
Scheduling Requirements

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week during daytime hours.

Essential Functions
  • Comply with standards set by the hospital and relevant regulatory agencies at both state and federal levels.
  • Complete special assignments from the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Assist the nuclear physician in carrying out specialized imaging procedures.
  • Ensure all tests are conducted accurately, and validate results before patient discharge.
  • Calibrate the dose calibrator and perform quality control on gamma cameras according to departmental protocols, promptly reporting any issues to the lead technologist.
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients, including expected wait times, while ensuring their comfort during the process. Utilize prescribed technical parameters to obtain optimal images.
  • Verify patient identities (both inpatient and outpatient) in accordance with hospital standard operating procedures before initiating any procedures.
  • Conduct all hot lab activities, including the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals, strictly adhering to vendor, departmental, and DEP regulations.
