Position Overview

We are in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join our Level 1 Trauma Center's Main Operating Room at the New Brunswick campus. The OR Nurse will deliver exceptional patient care in a surgical environment, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. This position demands a meticulous and proactive individual who excels in a dynamic setting and is focused on enhancing surgical outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma
• At least one year of experience as an OR RN or a recent graduate of a perioperative 101 program
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficient in computer skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within five years of hire
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)

Certifications and Licenses

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Scheduling Details

• Night Shift, 40 hours per week, from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Availability for weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as required
• Full-Time position

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care within the framework established by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while adhering to ethical guidelines as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensure safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles, and take responsibility for enhancing personal and team knowledge through effective communication and resource utilization.
• Report any identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the patient demographics served.
• Supervise and guide the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Consistently prioritize and evaluate interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
• Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team leader, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
