Clinical Manager - Mental Health Rehabilitation Program

Location: Washington, DC

Job Summary

The Clinical Manager will oversee the clinical operations and treatment services for an assigned team within a mental health rehabilitation program. This role provides clinical and administrative leadership, staff supervision, coaching, and direct clinical services while ensuring high-quality, compliant, and person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership, direction, and supervision to assigned clinical staff and treatment teams.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve clinical skills, productivity, efficiency, and quality of care.

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership and staff to ensure appropriate coverage of services, supervision, and crisis support.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for new intakes, with a target of at least six assessments per week.

  • Review and approve clinical documentation and session notes to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.

  • Provide individual and group supervision to support staff development and clinical excellence.

  • Train, coordinate, evaluate, and supervise assigned clinical staff and treatment services.

  • Participate in personnel management activities, including hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary matters, and other staff-related functions in collaboration with Human Resources.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field.

  • Must hold an active LPC or LICSW license in the District of Columbia.

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in mental health or a related behavioral health setting.

  • 1-3 years of supervisory or clinical leadership experience.

  • Previous experience working with behavioral health/DBH programs is highly preferred and may be considered when determining compensation.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and community providers.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, compliance requirements, and quality improvement processes.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
