Quality Inspector (Dimensional)

Location: Lewisville, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
6 month contract-to-Hire



Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector (Dimensional) to support quality operations within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections on precision components and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, FDA regulations, and ISO quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment, interpreting engineering drawings, and identifying nonconforming materials while maintaining accurate quality documentation.



Key Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving inspections on incoming raw materials and components.
  • Conduct in-process and final dimensional inspections of subassemblies and finished medical device products.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, inspection procedures, sampling plans, and workmanship standards.
  • Perform dimensional measurements using precision inspection equipment including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Optical Comparator
    • Electronic Test Equipment
  • Verify products meet engineering specifications and quality requirements.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Process nonconforming materials and complete Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
  • Generate and maintain quality documentation, including inspection procedures, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and quality reports.
  • Perform Oracle transactions including accepting materials, inventory movements, product releases, and BOM-related transactions.
  • Generate inventory status reports and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process and product improvements.
  • Train and mentor entry-level Quality Inspectors as needed.
  • Follow all FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, safety, and company quality procedures.



Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Quality Inspection experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
    • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) knowledge or experience.
  • Hands-on experience using:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Precision measuring equipment
  • Experience documenting inspection results and working with nonconforming material processes.
  • Experience using Oracle or other ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inspection activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
