Structural Steel Foreman – $38–$40/hr + $100/day Per Diem

Advanced Steel Welding & Mechanical, LLC is hiring an experienced Structural Steel Foreman for the St. Carlo Acutis Middle School project in Grand Forks, North Dakota, with McGough serving as the General Contractor.

\n

This is a working foreman position. We are looking for someone who can lead a structural steel erection crew, plan daily work, coordinate erection activities, and work alongside the crew when needed.

    $100/day per diem for eligible employees

Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Lead daily structural steel erection activities

  • \n
  • \n

    Plan manpower and daily work assignments

  • \n
  • \n

    Coordinate erection sequencing

  • \n
  • \n

    Read structural and erection drawings

  • \n
  • \n

    Direct rigging, connecting, bolt-up, welding, and miscellaneous steel installation

  • \n
  • \n

    Coordinate crane picks and material staging

  • \n
  • \n

    Communicate with the General Contractor and other trades

  • \n
  • \n

    Monitor productivity, workmanship, and safety

  • \n
  • \n

    Verify use of fall protection and safe work practices

  • \n
  • \n

    Participate in daily planning and hazard recognition

  • \n
  • \n

    Identify unsafe conditions and stop work when needed

  • \n
  • \n

    Assist with field erection activities when necessary

  • \n
  • \n

    Help maintain tools, equipment, and organized work areas

  • \n
\n

Required Experience

Qualified candidates should have strong experience in:

    Structural steel erection

  • \n
  • \n

    Leading ironworker or erection crews

  • \n
  • \n

    Rigging structural steel

  • \n
  • \n

    Connecting and bolt-up

  • \n
  • \n

    Crane signaling and coordination

  • \n
  • \n

    Reading structural drawings

  • \n
  • \n

    Erection sequencing

  • \n
  • \n

    Working at heights

  • \n
  • \n

    Fall protection

  • \n
  • \n

    Boom lift / aerial lift work

  • \n
  • \n

    Telehandler / forklift operation

  • \n
\n

Previous structural steel foreman or lead ironworker experience is required.

\n

Certifications

\n

McGough requires appropriate certification for employees performing certain work on this project.

\n

Depending on duties performed, applicants must be able to provide applicable current certification or qualification for:

Candidates with multiple current certifications will receive preference.

Welding Experience

Structural and field welding experience is strongly preferred.

\n

Candidates who are certified to weld should be prepared to identify their current welding processes, positions, and certification status.
