Kforce's client in Columbia, MD is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support capital project accounting, fixed asset management, and financial reporting. This role will oversee project-related expenses, reconcile capital expenditures, support Workday data accuracy, and assist with ERP conversion cleanup. The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities: Track, record, and reconcile capital expenditures across assigned projects Monitor project budgets, actuals, and variances Maintain accurate project and capital asset data in Workday Process fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers Prepare depreciation schedules, asset summaries, and project cost analyses Support journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting activities Review and clean up data from ERP conversion issues Research discrepancies and resolve complex accounting or reporting issues Partner with agencies, leadership, and management teams to support project accounting needs Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and reliable for decision-making Requirements: Degree or formal background in Accounting or Finance Strong experience with capital accounting, project accounting, or fixed assets Experience with journal entries and month-end close Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs Strong Microsoft Office proficiency Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: Workday ERP experience Governmental, public sector, or regulated industry experience Experience with ERP conversions or data reconciliation projects Key Skills: Capital Project Accounting Fixed Assets Workday Journal Entries Month-End Close Budget-to-Actual Analysis Variance Analysis Depreciation ERP Data Cleanup Excel Reconciliations Financial Reporting The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
