The Infection Prevention Manager carries out strategies and vision for the infection prevention program. The Infection Prevention Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall management of the development and administration of the Organizational infection prevention program, including compliance with accrediting, licensing, and governing agency expectations, policy development, staff education, program coordination, and the evaluation of all aspects of service delivered: ensuring quality programs and patient safety. The Infection Prevention Manager is responsible for the daily operational oversight of the infection prevention program, including surveillance, prevention, and control activities necessary to prevent and control infection, as well as managerial oversight of the infection prevention team.

The Infection Prevention Manager establishes and maintains effective working relationships with medical staff, organization leaders, and other departments, and fosters a collaborative environment with department leadership and staff to achieve department goals. Leadership of and/or participation in work groups or committees as required for the success of the infection prevention program. Collaboration with Employee Health related to employee infections/immunizations. Active participation in environmental inspections, onboarding, continuing education, and in-services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\n
    \n
  • Education:\n
      \n
    • Current or recent prior experience in a hospital setting for at least 5
    • \n
    • Familiarity with Microsoft
    • \n
    • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for DNV or TJC, CMS, OSHA, CDCC, APIC and
    • \n
    • Prefer experience in process improvement, employee health, and/or Patient Safety.
    • \n
  • \n
  • Required length and type of experience:\n
      \n
    • Working experience with MIDAS+, Cerner, or similar experience at another facility preferred.
    • \n
    • Minimum two years of experience in writing procedures, documentation of standards and protocols, and educating end-users.
    • \n
    • Requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • \n
    • Must be a clear communicator.
    • \n
    • Daily interaction with sensitive information high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • \n
  • \n
  • Required licensure, certification or registry:\n
      \n
    • Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
    • \n
    • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) if MSN concentration is not in Infection Control. Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
    • \n
