Job Summary
We are hiring Garage Door Service Technicians for direct hire opportunities in San Diego, CA. This is a great fit for mechanically inclined candidates who enjoy hands-on work, customer interaction, problem solving, and sales.
In this field-based role, technicians visit homeowners for scheduled service appointments, diagnose garage door issues, explain repair or replacement options, close sales, and complete the work. Prior garage door experience is not required, as full training is provided.
This opportunity offers a supportive training environment, experienced technician ride-alongs, independent field work, and strong earning potential for candidates who are motivated by performance-based compensation. Key Responsibilities
- Travel directly to customer homes throughout the San Diego area for scheduled garage door service appointments.
- Diagnose garage door, spring, cable, opener, and related service issues.
- Clearly explain problems, repair options, and replacement recommendations to homeowners.
- Present good, better, best solutions, provide estimates, upsell appropriate services, and close sales.
- Complete garage door repairs, service work, and maintenance after approval.
- Collect payment, confirm customer satisfaction, and maintain a professional customer experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Training class starts September 8.
- Starting/training pay: $24 to $25 per hour, with training paid at $25 per hour for up to 8 weeks.
- Training schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Training includes up to 8 weeks of instruction, ride-alongs, and 1 week of hands-on training in Orange County.
- After training: 100% commission-based compensation.
- Commission rate: 15% to 20% on net sales.
- Average earning potential: $80,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Actual earnings are based on individual sales performance.
- Weekly payroll, with payday every Friday.
- After successful training and the applicable probationary period, technicians receive a company vehicle that can be kept at home, gas card, cell phone, and company tablet.
- Field-based role with the ability to go directly from home to scheduled appointments in most cases.
- Occasional office visits may be required for meetings or supplies.
- Benefits eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment for employees working at least 30 hours per week.
