Import Coordinator
Job Description
Coordinate movement of ocean and air shipments from foreign origin points to USA destinations; Process and manage each shipment from A to Z. Receive, review, and process import documentation from overseas offices Open files and manage import documentation, including VOCC bills of lading, NVOCC/ house bills of lading, in-bond documents, arrival notices, delivery orders, freight charge releases, USCBP and other agency documents, tracking and tracing of FCL and LCL cargo shipments Coordinate inland transportation arrangements and door deliveries with customers, freight forwarders, trucking companies and international carriers. Update industry websites as needed CARGOWISE, DESCARTES NETCHB, SYRINX TRADETECH a plus Process vendor invoices and payables on time to meet month end deadlines Cross-train to support to other departments as needed. Maintain professional and timely communications with all pertinent parties, including clients, importers, forwarders, carriers, overseas offices, and vendors. Maintain accurate and complete import documentation records to comply with domestic and foreign regulations. Work well in a team environment and assist other team members when needed. Other duties/ special projects as assigned.
2+ years experience processing import shipments preferred Excellent communication skills (written and oral) PC skills - Outlook, Excel and Word Organizational skills, critical thinking and interpersonal skills Multitask; able to work independently or as part of a team High caliber customer service focus Support ISO9001 quality system
