Our organization, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, is excited to announce an opening for a Gastroenterologist to join a well-established and expanding practice! Bayfront Digestive Disease, founded in 1984, is part of our Center for Digestive Health. This practice specializes in managing digestive disorders for both adults and pediatric patients (ages 12 and older) and comprises five physicians, thirteen advanced practice providers, and a support team of 35. The center boasts the largest and most comprehensive team of digestive health specialists in the region, offering diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures for digestive diseases. An in-house infusion suite is available, accommodating up to 10 patients.

Our facility utilizes cutting-edge endoscopic technology to diagnose conditions affecting the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. The latest high-definition equipment provides clearer images and improved contrast. We are proud to be the only hospital in the area utilizing this advanced technology, and our GI lab is recognized as an ASGE Center of Excellence.

  • Procedures Available: Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, BRAVO, Capsule Endoscopy, Radiofrequency Ablation Therapy (HALO), Radiofrequency (Stretta), Infusion Therapy, and Hepatitis C Treatment. The expected workload is approximately 80% inpatient/procedures and 20% office visits.
  • Call Coverage: Physicians share call responsibilities weekly, rotating every 5 to 6 weeks. Call lasts for a 7-day period from Monday 8:00 AM to the following Monday 8:00 AM, with coverage required for two nights during that week.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical institution
  • American Board Eligible, American Board Certified, or Canadian Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Candidates should possess a comprehensive gastroenterology skill set and a willingness to learn new techniques and participate in innovative procedures.
  • ERCP experience is preferred but not mandatory; mentorship will be provided.
  • Must be able to secure an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and obtain necessary credentials.
  • DEA certification is required.
  • A strong commitment to patient-centered care and excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as we prioritize delivering high-quality care in a compassionate and professional setting.
