Senior Cost Accountant

Kforce has a client in the Saint Louis, MO area that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support and enhance the organization's cost accounting processes. Summary: This role is responsible for maintaining standard costs, coordinating cost roll activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Senior Cost Accountant will partner closely with Operations and IT to improve cost accounting processes, maintain data integrity, and drive continuous process improvements while taking on increased ownership over time. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain cost accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve cost-related issues and improve operational efficiency Analyze cost trends and provide insights to support business decisions Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, reporting, and data accuracy Collaborate on process improvement initiatives and support special projects as needed Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of cost accounting experience Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced Excel skills Strong experience with JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system is preferred The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
