RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a board-certified, experienced, collaborative psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of Behavioral Health at RWJUH Somerset. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic physician leader to shape the future of behavioral health services within a growing, high-quality program while maintaining an active clinical practice. This physician leader will provide clinical and administrative leadership for the hospitals behavioral health service, partnering closely with operational leadership to advance high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of behavioral health services by overseeing departmental operations, provider performance, quality improvement, recruitment, and medical staff engagement.
\nThe Medical Director will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of behavioral health providers, promote clinical excellence, foster provider engagement, and help drive strategic growth and quality initiatives. While maintaining an active clinical practice, this is a full-time inpatient opportunity supported by a multidisciplinary team that helps to manage admissions, psychiatric evaluations, discharge summaries, and potential civil commitment proceedings. He/she will direct and participate in team meetings, treatment planning, disposition, and other certifying requirements.

\nCompensation:
\nThe anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $315,000 to $505,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidates educational background, skills, and professional experience.
\nSuccessful candidates must be:

- ABPN board-certified in General Psychiatry \n
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ \n
- Demonstrate clinical excellence with previous leadership experience preferred \n
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills \n
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, education, and provider engagement \n
