As a family-run business, they bring a personal approach and a commitment to craftsmanship that shows in every finish.Due to an expanding work load and customer base the company are now looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Estimator / QS to join their team.About The RoleYou'll work on a wide variety of residential construction projects including:High-end home renovationsExtensionsLoft and garage conversionsLuxury kitchen installationsBathroom refurbishmentsBespoke new-build developmentsDesign and build projectsNo two projects are the same, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and client interaction.Key DutiesAs part of the commercial team you will:Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissionsMeasure drawings and produce Bills of QuantitiesCarry out digital take-offs from architectural and structural drawingsObtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractorsProduce project budgets and cost plansMonitor project costs and profitabilityPrice variations and additional works throughout live projectsAssist with procurement of subcontractors and materialsPrepare interim valuations and final accountsDevelop estimating systems, templates and cost databasesClient & Design ResponsibilitiesYou will also play an important client-facing role by:Meeting clients to discuss their projects and aspirationsConsulting with customers to understand their specification, budget and prioritiesWorking alongside our designers and project managers to develop practical, cost-effective solutionsPresenting quotations and commercial proposals to clientsExplaining build costs and alternative options where appropriateManaging specification changes and client variations throughout the projectAssisting clients with selecting construction finishes, kitchens and bathrooms where requiredSupporting projects from initial enquiry through to contract award and constructionCandidate Requirements:Quantity Surveying or estimating experience within residential constructionStrong commercial awarenessExcellent communication and presentation skillsConfidence dealing directly with clientsExperience pricing extensions, renovations or new-build housingThe ability to read architectural and structural drawingsStrong Excel and computer skillsA proactive and organised approachA full UK driving licenceExperience within kitchens, bathrooms or luxury residential construction would be a significant advantage but is not essentialIf you feel that you have the relative skills/attributes to fulfil this role then please apply now for immediate consideration.The employer fully supports Equality in Employment.
