Interim Financial Accountant - 3 Month ContractLocation: Near Oxford - Office BasedHours: Full-time or Part-timeContract: 3 months initially We are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support a business near Oxford for an initial three-month assignment. This is an office-based role and can be structured on either a full-time or part-time basis. The role will focus primarily on statutory reporting, corporation tax support, R&D tax credits and strengthening the year-end balance sheet position. Key Responsibilities\n

• Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102.
\n
• Review and support the FY25 balance sheet, including investigating and resolving any areas requiring further work.
\n
• Assess and work with the existing balance sheet schedules, improving or rebuilding supporting schedules where necessary.
\n
• Provide supporting financial data for corporation tax returns.
\n
• Work with external advisors on the preparation and submission of the FY25 R&D Tax Credit claim.
\n
• Prepare and provide supporting data for the current financial year as required.
\n
• Help establish clear and robust balance sheet support where a formal balance sheet reconciliation pack is not currently in place.

• Ensure financial information and supporting documentation are accurate, complete and appropriately evidenced.

There is no requirement to liaise with external auditors as part of this assignment. Key Requirements\n

• ACA or ACCA qualified - essential.
\n
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including practical experience of FRS 102.
\n
• Previous experience preparing statutory accounts.
\n
• Hands-on experience with R&D Tax Credit claims - essential.
\n
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation and review experience, with the ability to identify issues and improve existing supporting schedules.
\n
• Comfortable working independently in an interim environment and quickly getting to grips with existing financial records and processes.
\n
• Sector background is flexible; relevant technical accounting and R&D tax credit experience are more important than industry experience.
\n

The Assignment This would suit a technically strong Financial Accountant who is comfortable taking ownership of year-end accounting work and working through areas where the existing supporting documentation may require improvement. The initial contract is for three months, with flexibility to consider candidates looking for either full-time or part-time hours. The position is office based near Oxford.
