Group Financial Controller
Job Description
We are partnering with a private equity-backed, high-growth professional services group, based in Solihull, undergoing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy. With strong financial backing and an active M&A pipeline, the business is scaling rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth. As part of this journey, we are seeking a technically strong ACA qualified Group Financial Controller to play a critical leadership role in shaping a best-in-class finance function. \nReporting directly to the CFO, you will operate at the heart of a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. You will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen, helping to scale the finance function while supporting ongoing M&A activity and post-deal integration.You will lead from the front, driving improvements in reporting, controls, systems, and processes, while building a high-performing team.Key responsibilities include:
\nFinancial Control & Reporting

- Own and enhance the Group's financial control environment \n
- Lead consolidated reporting and statutory accounts across multiple entities \n
- Ensure consistency in accounting policies (IFRS/UK GAAP) \n
- Manage external audits and regulatory compliance \n
Private Equity & Stakeholder Engagement
\n- \n
- Act as a key interface with private equity investors \n
- Support board reporting and strategic decision-making \n
- Build relationships with lenders, auditors, and advisors \n
M&A & Integration
\n- \n
- Support financial due diligence and deal execution \n
- Lead post-acquisition integration of finance processes and reporting \n
- Drive synergy tracking and performance optimisation \n
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
\n- \n
- Drive improvements in reporting quality and timelines \n
- Lead finance transformation projects across systems and processes \n
- Implement scalable infrastructure to support growth \n
- Champion automation and efficiency initiatives \n
Leadership
\n- \n
- Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team \n
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement \n
Candidate profile required:
\n- \n
- ACA or ACCA qualified \n
- Previously trained with a top-tier accountancy firm. \n
- Experience within a private equity-backed business \n
- Strong M&A exposure \n
- Track record of driving change in reporting, systems, and processes \n
- Experience in post-acquisition integration \n
- Strong technical knowledge (IFRS/UK GAAP) \n
- Excellent stakeholder management skills \n
What's on offer:
\n£100,000 - £115,000 + benefits package to include bonus
