\nPriority Role Requirement
\nImportance of the Role
\nThis is viewed as the lead role within the team and potentially the single most important position in the programme today.
\nThe expectation is not that this individual builds the future operating model from scratch. Instead, the priority is bringing in someone with deep end-to-end Fund Accounting expertise who can provide the accounting knowledge required to ensure the platform, processes and data model are designed correctly.
\nThe programme can determine the future operating model over time. What it needs immediately is genuine Fund Accounting credibility and expertise.

\n10+ years of Fund Accounting XP.
\nA snr Portfolio Accountant bkground.
\nXP managing multiple client portfolios.
\nExtensive NAV production XP .
\nStrong understanding of valuation activities and accounting controls.
\nXP dealing with escalations and acting as a snr point of expertise.
\nA solid Fund Accounting and Operations bkgrnd , even if they have more recently moved into migration, change or transformation activities.
\nThe key requirement is someone who genuinely understands every component of the NAV process and how those components interact.
\nA lack of deep Fund Accounting XP would be a significant concern.

\nAlongside technical expertise, attitude is critical.
\nThe team is looking for someone who is:
\nHighly positive.
\nFuture-focused.
\nNaturally improvement-oriented.
\nPassionate about technology and automation.
\nConstantly asking what can be done better.
\nInterested in how technology can solve operational problems.
\nMotivated to help develop the organisation in that direction.
\nThe individual should not simply be focused on maintaining current processes, but on identifying opportunities to improve them.
\nRole in Transformation
\nWhile not responsible for defining the operating model, the successful candidate will be expected to help drive the change agenda through their accounting expertise.
\nA key objective is to rethink valuation and NAV activities and move them towards a more process-driven and data-driven model.
\nThe individual should be able to:
\nChallenge the existing approach.
\nLook at NAV and valuation issues through both an accounting and data lens.
\nIdentify root causes rather than simply resolve symptoms.
\nDrive issues further upstream into the accounting process.
\nImprove data quality at source.
\nTranslate accounting knowledge into system rules and controls.
\nHelp ensure the platform is built in a way that supports future automation.
\nThere is a strong belief that only a genuine Fund Accountant can effectively do this. Understanding fund complexity, valuation methodologies, accounting treatments and NAV production is essential when determining which rules should be embedded within the platform.
\nThe ultimate goal is to build:
\nBetter processes.
\nBetter data quality.
\nStronger automation.
\nA scalable data model.
\nGreater reliance on exception management rather than manual processing.
\nCurrent Focus
\nDuring the shadow and testing phase, the priority is to:
\nProve the platform.
\nDemonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.
\nShow incremental progress through evidence and results.
