HGV Class 1 Driver – Uttoxeter

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV CE Driver, Category CE Driver, C+E Driver, or Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
\n  • Start times between 15:00 and 19:00

Rates of Pay

 • £17.28 per hour basic rate
\n  • Overtime paid at £21.60 per hour
\n  • Minimum 9.5 hours paid per shift
\n  • No break deductions

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Carrying out RDC and brewery deliveries using curtain-side vehicles with no handball required
\n  • Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
\n  • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
\n  • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations at all times
\n  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
\n  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements to management
\n  • Completing all relevant paperwork and tachograph records accurately

Essential Skills

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum of 12 months' experience driving Class 1 vehicles
\n  • Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes
\n  • Good level of spoken and written English
\n  • Punctual with excellent time-keeping skills
\n  • Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
\n  • Effective communication skills and a professional attitude

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
\n  • Previous RDC delivery experience
\n  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience
\n  • Experience operating curtain-side vehicles would be advantageous

Training Provided

 • Driver assessment must be completed before starting
\n  • One-day paid induction following successful assessment
\n  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
