Modelling Engineer – Defence LogisticsContract | £550–£600 per day | Outside IR35 | Predominantly Remote *We are supporting a leading consultancy on a significant project within the defence logistics sector and are looking for experienced Digital Modellers to join the team.This is an opportunity to work on a sensitive, technically complex programme focused on data science, operational analysis and quantitative modelling, with a particular emphasis on logistics and cost modelling.The RoleWe are looking for 1–3 experienced Digital Modellers who can work with a high degree of autonomy and contribute quickly to the development of analytical and modelling solutions.You will be involved in areas such as:Developing logistics and logistical flow modelsBuilding cost modelsDeveloping stock and flow modelsCreating event-based / discrete-event logistical modelsApplying quantitative analysis and data science to complex logistics problemsTranslating real-world operational challenges into robust computational modelsWorking with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate modelling outputsEssential ExperienceCurrent SC Clearance – essentialProven experience in programming and quantitative modellingStrong background in data science, operationalanalysis or a closely related disciplineExperience developing one or more of:Logistics modelsCost modelsStock and flow modelsLogistical flow / event-based modelsAbility to work independently and make an immediate contributionStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPython experience is currently used within the project, but the programming language is not prescriptive.
