Job Description
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (including weekends)
\nHours: 10:00pm 6:00am
\nSalary: £47,000 - £52,000 depending upon experience
\nWe are seeking an experienced Fleet Vehicle Technician to join our growing fleet maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified mechanic with experience working on trucks and trailers within the UK, who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational.
\nWorking night shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation, you will play a critical role in maintaining our fleet, minimising vehicle downtime, and supporting the smooth running of our operations.
\nWhat You'll Be Doing:
\nAs a Fleet Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.

- Carrying out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fleet vehicles. \n
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults. \n
- Using diagnostic equipment and software to identify and repair vehicle issues efficiently. \n
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and carrying out MOT inspections where qualified. \n
- Conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards. \n
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, job sheets, and fleet management system updates. \n
- Supporting vehicle commissioning, decommissioning, and asset management activities. \n
- Managing workshop tools, equipment, and parts inventory effectively. \n
- Assisting with breakdown response and roadside repairs when required. \n
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and operational teams to ensure maximum fleet availability. \n
What youll bring to the role:
\n- \n
- Proven experience as a Fleet Mechanic, HGV Technician, Commercial VehicleTechnician, Truck Mechanic, or Trailer Technician within the UK. \n
- Strong experience maintaining and repairing trucks and/or trailers. \n
- Own professional mechanic tools. \n
- Full UK Driving Licence. \n
- Experience working with HGVs, LCVs, EVs, hybrid vehicles, or specialist fleet vehicles. \n
- Experience using fleet management or workshop management systems. \n
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline. \n
- Qualified MOT Tester. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \n
- Strong understanding of workshop health and safety requirements. \n
