We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Shropshire team based in locations within Shropshire.Location: Longden Road SY3 9EL, Craven Arms SY7 8NR or Oswestry SY11 4AHHours: 40 hours per weekSalary: £27,976 £31,000 per year + benefitsWe are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.The Shropshire contract covers local highways across the county and is responsible for the maintenance, winter service, emergency response and reactive repair works. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team where you'll play a vital role in keeping our local communities connected and safe.What will you be responsible for?As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you'll be working within the Shropshire team, supporting them in maintaining and repairing local highways across the county. Your day to day will include:Carrying out highway maintenance duties including routine maintenance activities on the networkBeing part of the winter maintenance and emergency callout serviceOperating a variety of plant and equipment to carry out required duties effectivelyUsing the CONFIRM application to accurately record siteworks and upload photographic evidenceWorking collaboratively with team members and subcontractors to maintain a safe and healthy working environmentWhat are we looking for?This role of Highways Maintenance Operative is great for you if:You have experience in highways maintenanceYou hold 12d Lantra Traffic Management trainingYou have an LGV driving licenceYou have strong organisation, prioritisation, and time management skillsYou're trustworthy and self-motivated with excellent customer service skillsWe're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
